About the Experience

We wanted to bring change and focus on the bold, complex and delicious cuisine of Mexico - deep rooted in ancient civilizations and colonizations. In addition, Chef Varun has always been drawn to the cuisine’s savoury flavours. The space itself is full of character, warmth and texture - inspired by Mexican cantinas. From the mural at the entrance, the altar, talavera tiles to the papel picado inspired wooden panel; all of it tells a story.

Chef Pereria started out as a dishwasher at a bar in the USA, and studied for a management degree before returning to Bengaluru’s most serious kitchens — Taj’s Blue Ginger and The Park’s Italia — finally joining as Sous Chef under Chef Manu Chandra at Olive Bangalore, then Brand Head of Monkey Bar and finally Brand Chef for Toast & Tonic. He's now ventured out on his own as chef at Comal.
